Samsung Tizen guide

IPTV player for Samsung Tizen TV.

Test the LibertyVue Player native build on a Samsung TV. Because Samsung TV apps must be signed, the current WGT is a staging package for developers.

Important: sign before installing

Samsung TV will not accept this unsigned WGT as a finished installer. You need Tizen Studio, the TV extension and a valid Samsung certificate profile for the test television.

What you need
A Samsung Tizen TV in developer mode. Tizen Studio, TV extension and Samsung Certificate Extension. An M3U/M3U8 URL or Xtream Codes account you are authorised to use.

Installation

Sign and install the Tizen WGT.

  1. 1. Enable developer mode

    Enable Developer Mode on the TV and connect it to the same network as the computer running Tizen Studio.

  2. 2. Create a Samsung certificate

    Create a certificate profile and add the DUID of the TV you will use for testing. Keep the author certificate for future updates.

  3. 3. Sign the LibertyVue package

    Import LibertyVue-Samsung-0.1.1-UNSIGNED.wgt into Tizen Studio, select your certificate profile and build a signed WGT.

  4. 4. Install and open the app

    Use Device Manager to allow installation on the connected TV, launch LibertyVue Player and note the Device ID and Device Key.

Connect your playlist.

Use the Device ID and Device Key shown by this TV on Manage playlists. Save an authorised M3U/M3U8 or Xtream Codes connection, then choose Synchroniser le site in the TV app.

Samsung Tizen questions.

Can I install the Samsung WGT directly?

No. The published WGT is explicitly unsigned. Create a Samsung TV certificate profile and sign the package before installing it on a developer TV.

Which Samsung TVs are supported?

The current package targets Tizen 4+ as a development baseline, but model compatibility has not yet been certified. Test it on the exact TV model you plan to use.

Does the Samsung app include channels?

No. LibertyVue Player is software only. Add personal media or a playlist from a provider authorised to distribute that content.
